Meagan’s 50th Birthday party was held at the Club house on Saturday 25th of July much fun was had by all. The Girls involved decided to surprise Meagan by setting the tables with silver wear, candelabras, butter dishes and vases, the vases were overflowing with roses and sweet peas as you will see in the pictures below. The evening started with many members watching the international rugby game which South Africa duly won and helped to increase the jolly mood for the evening, every one arrived and Meagan was late, unfortunately a few minutes before Meagan was due to come down to the club house, Dino’s girlfriend slipped and fell and fractured here arm, so Meagan & Karin had to strap her up, then send Dino and Girlfriend to Nelspruit for X-rays and medical care, Colbert drove them to Nelspruit at 7pm. Due to this Dino missed his mother’s birthday party. Eleanor flew in from Cape Town that morning and was leaving again early next morning to fly back.
Meagan arrived and was emotional when seeing how many people had arrived for her party. We proceeded to have a great evening, the food was excellent, kudos’ to Craig & Maja from Sleepers restaurant who did the catering under extremely trying circumstances the power kept tripping (started to trip half way through the rugby you can imagine the men’s faces who were watching the rugby). The speeches were interesting as we could not read our notes due to low lighting in the pictures below you will see Mario trying to deflect light onto Meagan’s paper for her speech. The weather was icy cold but all seemed to have a wonderful time.
We certainly missed those of you who were unable to make it.
At the AGM the board members presented Meagan with a painting she always wanted the artist is an old friend of hers Roy.
